S.S. Keewatin

The foundation’s mandate includes the preservation and display not only of S.S. Keewatin and her fixtures, but also related artifacts, including property both retained on the ship (such as china and silverware) and donated (such as clothing and luggage). Over time these will be photographed and a digital catalog made available for view online.

Our archivist works with Huronia Museum to collect, catalog and store original documents, and these too will be digitized in future and made available for view online. In addition, we are working with crew and passengers, and their families, to digitize original objects retained in their possession including documents, images (photographs) and stories (first person accounts) for online viewing/listening.

Also, we have become a repository of a growing collection of hand built scale model ships, and over time these too will be photographed and a digital catalog made available for view online.
