Captain: It was my pleasure to meet you Friday night at the Huronia Museum. Especially to be introduced to you by my friend Rosemary.
I spoke to you about the daughters and grand-daughter of one of the crew of the S.S. Keewatin, Chief Engineer Albert Rice. Also my family and I lived at Princess Alice Sea Cadet Camp year round for many years and then a light station the Keewatin passed on it’s weekly runs. We knew the schedule and it was a highlight of the week to see her or her sister ship heading up the lakes or into their home port. Years later, my mother, a writer for the Midland Free Press, wrote a column telling about the feeling of seeing them for the last time as the ships passed the light station she and Dad were now serving on.
Best wishes for fair weather on the big day.
